Online running coach: real follow-up, not a PDF

Coaching services cost real money every month and, in practice, deliver a monthly plan and a few messages. PaceOn does what an attentive coach would do every week: looks at what you ran and decides the next step.

What a coach does that a plan doesn't

They look at the run you did, not the one that was scheduled. They notice the easy run came out hard, the long run was cut, you woke up three days with a high resting heart rate. And they make small, frequent decisions: shorten the intervals, postpone the long run, slot in a down week. That observe-and-adjust loop is what drives progress — and it's exactly what PaceOn automates.

How the follow-up works

Every activity that arrives from Strava is normalized, matched to the planned workout and analyzed: planned versus actual, pace by segment, effort, heart-rate zone, comparison with recent runs. The system produces a deterministic reading on the spot and, if you want, an AI Coach analysis of what went well, what deserves attention and what to do over the next days.

The AI Coach also answers questions — about your plan, your history and running in general — with your context at hand. It only answers about training, races, pace, recovery and performance; it doesn't diagnose or prescribe anything health-related, and it says so when a question falls outside that scope.

What the AI doesn't decide on its own

Every AI suggestion goes through a rules engine before it becomes a workout: limited volume progression, long run within the safe ceiling, never two hard workouts in a row, mandatory down weeks, taper before the race. If a suggestion breaks a rule, it's adjusted or discarded. The AI never writes directly to your plan — that's how we make sure a model's mistake doesn't become your injury.

When a human coach makes more sense

If you have an ongoing injury, a health condition that requires monitoring, or high-performance goals with running form to correct, an in-person professional is irreplaceable. PaceOn works very well for anyone who wants structure, consistency and a plan that reacts — and it can be used alongside a coach, who sees your history and the adjustments on the same screen.
